Shir Ha-Yam invites youto join us for aPre Shavout Meditative Hike in theTorrey Pines Extension TrailsLed by Steve Schechter N.P.,Rhonda Mason and Ahouva SteinhausMay 26 th 10 AM-noonPlease RSVP and be on time so we don't leave you behind.We will take in the beauty of nature to open our hearts to our inner wisdom, the wisdom of the earth and of our tradition through walking meditation, chanting and silence.We enter this sacred ground to ascend the hills to receive our individual Torah. As we prepare to receive the Torah on Shavout we will be preparing our souls through this meditative journey.This beautiful area is not the regular area adjacent to the beach.Access is from the end of Del Mar Scenic Parkway off of Carmel Valley Rd.The level of hiking is moderate with some hills.Please bring ample water, hiking or trail shoes, a whistle snacks, light jacket and a hat/sun screen. If you would like a hiking stick or small towel to sit on please bring them along.Directions: From Hwy 5, north or south:Exit Carmel Valley Rd to the westContinue 2 mi.Turn Right onto Del Mar Scenic Parkway and proceed 1 mile to the end. Parking is on the street. Carpool if you can.Del Mar Scenic Parkway is across from the Torrey Pines Park which is East of hwy 1. If you get to the coast turn around .Rhonda's cell is 619-251-4618

Shir Ha-Yam
Shir Ha- Yam is a collaborative, lay led chavurah that began as a grass roots gathering in 1995. Shir Ha Yam evolved from a group of spiritual seekers with a variety of Jewish backgrounds, who were looking for a meaningful, joyful approach to Jewish practice. This led us eventually to Jewish Renewal. We are now a member community of ALEPH, Alliance for Jewish Renewal.
Today, we are a community of 200 people, of all ages and levels of Jewish observance. We offer participatory, egalitarian services on a monthly basis. Holiday celebrations, meditation,workshops and shabbatons are offered as public services and hosted by this group.

TheThe Elijah Minyan is in it's 18th year of hosting High Holiday Services and bi weekly shabbat services. Led by author and scholar Rabbi Wayne Dosick, Ph.D. Services are hosted in members homes around the county through out the year.
Rabbi Dosick is the author of several best selling books on Judaism and Kabbalah, including;
'Living Judaism,' 'Spriritualy Healing the Adult Indigo', and '20 Minute Kaballah'

Dr. Burt Bialik is an internationally known educator, meditation leader and teacher. He has been teaching Jewish meditation for over 20 years, and is the developer of 'Dharma Shalom'.
