SHIR HA-YAM
SHIR HA-YAM & THE ELIJAH MINYAN PRESENT:
FINDING YOUR HEART OF WISDOM
A Sage-ing Workshop
February 26 Sunday 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center
4126 Executive Dr. La Jolla 92037
Presented by
RABBIS VICTOR & NADYA GROSS
Age-ing can be so much more than what our bodies tell us. This powerful workshop shows us how to make our age-ing a process of self-discovery as well as spiritual unfolding. Based on the important book, From Age-ing to Sage-ing, by our teacher and Rebbe, Rabbi Zalman Shachter-Shalomi, we will ask and answer:
• What is the wisdom that enriches your life, and which you can share with others?
• How does the work of Spiritual Eldering help develop a regenerative spirit?
• What simple tools can you use to heal past hurts and regrets, and gain new insight?
• How can you redefine and live the role of Elder in your community?
We will learn techniques that lead us to find our unique wisdom — born of the years of life experience — and ways to express it; and we will learn some of the tools for engaging with our Inner Elder to begin to articulate our individual path of sage-ing. We are never too young or too old to embark on the Sage-ing path. This is the opportunity to learn to live fully and consciously.
Rabbis Victor & Rabbi Nadya Gross are the co-Rabbis of Pardes Levavot, a Jewish Renewal congregation in Boulder, CO, and co-directors of Ruach Ha’Aretz, ALEPH’s Mobile Retreat Center. Rabbi Victor serves on the faculty and Director of Studies in the Aleph Rabbinical program. Rabbi Nadya is the Associate Director of ALEPH’s Ordination program in Spiritual Direction, and works with individuals, couples, and clergy as a Mashpi’ah - Spiritual Director.

Shir Ha- Yam is a collaborative, lay led chavurah that began as a grass roots gathering in 1995. Shir Ha Yam evolved from a group of spiritual seekers with a variety of Jewish backgrounds, who were looking for a meaningful, joyful approach to Jewish practice. This led us eventually to Jewish Renewal. We are now a member community of ALEPH, Alliance for Jewish Renewal.
Today, we are a community of 200 people, of all ages and levels of Jewish observance. We offer participatory, egalitarian services on a monthly basis. Holiday celebrations, meditation, workshops and shabbatons are offered as public services and hosted by this group.
See 'Services' page for schedule .
